details.

Most but not every detail you may want to know.

Who's the boss?

The YVCR was started and is run by Leigh Schanfein.

Where will I stay?

Leigh has a fairly good sized house with several guest rooms where you and/or your company will be staying.  Depending on how cozy you want to be, groups can be easily accommodated.

What do I need to take care of myself?

Pretty much everything except for the studio space, bedding, and a roof over your head.  You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself both at the house and the studio, feeding yourself, and some transportation.  If an artist fails to show respect for their spaces or others they will be immediately dismissed from the house, studio, and residency at their own expense.

Can I / Must I teach while I'm there?

There will be one obligatory and potentially more non-obligatory opportunities to teach during your residency.  These may or may not result in some payment.

Can I / Must I perform while I'm there?

There will be one obligatory studio or on-site showing at the end of your residency. This may or may not result in some payment.

Will there be existing dance classes I can take there?

Possibly, though they will probably be in the evening with the advanced teen students as part of the School of Classical Ballet, also housed at Montana Dance Center.

Is there a stipend or any other monetary support?

Not at this time.

How long does a residency last?

Dates and duration are flexible.

Who is this residency for?

Professionals in dance.
